2018-19 Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization Staff

Kyle Van Houten

Kyle is a sophomore from Hartland, Michigan studying Marketing. Kyle has been with BGRSO since the fall of 2017 and hosts a weekly afternoon radio show titled, "Inside Corner," covering baseball topics. His career goals are to work for a professional sports team in their marketing department.

 Max Marko

Max is a junior at Bowling Green State University from Buffalo, New York. He is studying Multi-platform Journalism and minoring in Communications. Max has been a part of BGRSO since fall of 2016 and has cherished his experiences with the organization, including being a part of some of the live BGSU Hockey broadcasts. He is hoping to find a job in broadcasting in the professional field, whether that is play-by-play or another piece to the puzzle of a sports broadcast. 

 Donovan Mann

Donovan is a junior from Charlotte, North Carolina studying Media Productions with a minor in Marketing. He has been in BGRSO since the fall of 2016, one as a general staff, one year as the pregame director and as the associate director. Since joining BGRSO, Donovan has broadcast more BGSU Volleyball games than any other member. He hopes to improve hisbroadcasting skills and gain on-air experience. He has interned with the Grand Lake Mariners in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and hopes to one day be a top play-by-play personality for one of the major sports networks.

Ryan Strodtbeck

Ryan is a senior from Cleveland, Ohio studying Media Production. He has been with BGRSO since fall of 2015 and has previously been the executive director for two years. He has broadcast multiple athletic events and most notably broadcast a women's basketball game in Springfield, Massachusetts, called a MAC Tournament men's basketball championship and traveled with the women's volleyball team to cover the conference tournament. Through BGRSO, he has learned how to edit audio, refine his broadcasting skills and developed leadership skills. Ryan has interned with the Grand Lake Mariners in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League and with ESPN 850-WKNR Cleveland. Ryan hopes to be a professional play-by-play broadcaster and own a radio station.

Brendan Hall

Brendan is a senior from Cleveland, Ohio studying Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Marketing. He has been with BGRSO since fall of 2015. He has held many executive staff roles as sales director/treasurer, associate director and as executive director. Some of Brendan's notable experiences were being able to cover BGSU football at Michigan State and Northwestern, traveling to all the MAC schools in Ohio, hosted a sports talk radio show with Jay Crawford and following the men's basketball team to the MAC Championship against Buffalo. He has accomplished many feats such as broadcasting most BGSU varsity sports and developed many skills such as audio editing and professionalism. Brendan has interned at iHeartMedia Toledo and ESPN 850-WKNR Cleveland. Brendan has also covered local high school football and basketball with ESPN 1430-AM WFOB and 96.7 WBVI-FM in Fostoria, Ohio. He hopes to work for a major sports media company after graduation.

 Ryan Vallon

Ryan is a junior from Littleton, Massachusetts and studies Media Production. He has been with BGRSO since fall of 2016 and has primarily broadcast BGSU Hockey. A few of his notable experiences with BGRSO was broadcasting a NCAA Tournament game in Allentown, Pennsylvania and at the Great Lakes Invitational at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Ryan hopes to refine his broadcasting skills and be a radio broadcaster in the National Hockey League. Ryan has interned as a summer counselor with Play-By-Play Sports Broadcasting Camps and with 630-AM WPRO in Providence, Rhode Island.

 Samuel Pedler

Sam is a freshman from Grand Rapids, Michigan studying Data Science. Sam joined BGRSO in the fall of 2018 with some experience hosting intermission and halftime reports with hopes of hosting his own sports talk radio show. He joined to meet great people from all sorts of places as well as share in our love for sports. Sam wants to become proficient in broadcasting games with the help of the older members as well as being better with using stats to explain certain parts of games. Sam's career goals are to use his Data Science major to work with a professional sports team and work with saber-metrics to enhance a team in the best way possible. 

 Thomas Cassity

Tom is a second-year junior at BGSU from Perrysburg, Ohio studying Sport Management with a minor in General Business. 

He has been with BGRSO since the fall of 2017. Some of his favorite experiences are being able to call men’s basketball court-side, having the opportunity to call a mid-week MACtion football game against Kent State in football. Tom has also discovered a major interest in volleyball through broadcasting a number of the team’s matches. He hopes to continue engaging with an avenue of sport that I find very interesting and unique. Tom has grown as a broadcaster so much here and love having the opportunity to continue to get better. His career goals are working for a professional organization in some capacity, whether that be in baseball, basketball, football. Broadcasting still remains an interesting passion of mine, but I am not quite sure what specialization I want to pursue going forward quite yet.

 Brendan Zeitzheim

Brendan is a sophomore from Port Clinton, Ohio studying Communications and minoring in Journalism. He joined BGRSO in the fall of 2018 doing intermission and halftime report hosting, and live tweeting. He hopes to gain valuable experience in the radio broadcasting field. Brendan's career goals are to work in radio and possibly having his own sports talk show one day.

 Chase Bachman

Chase is a sophomore from Whitehouse, Ohio studying Broadcast Journalism and minoring in Marketing. Chase joined BGRSO in the fall of 2017. His notable experiences include having Jay Crawford guest appear on his radio show "Give Us A Break" with Ryan Strodtbeck. Chase has been able to learn to operate studio equipment and broadcast multiple BGSU athletics contests. He has been able to work in radio at ESPN 1430 WFOB-AM and 96.7 WBVI-FM in Fostoria, Ohio, covering high school sports. Chase has also interned at the sports department for television station WTOL-11 in Toledo, Ohio. Chase has career goals that  include working for a television or radio station covering local sports as a play-by-play man, reporter, or anchor.

 Nicholas Bowers

Nick is a junior transfer student from Marysville, Ohio studying History and minoring in Political Science. Nick has been with BGRSO since fall of 2018 doing intermission reports for BGSU Hockey. Nick's goal with BGRSO is to meet new people and become involved in a campus activity in order to make the most of my time at BGSU. His career goal is to be a professor of history at a community college.

  

Joshua Saltzman

Josh is a senior from Findlay, Ohio studying Media Production. Josh has been with BGRSO since spring of 2017 and has most notably been a studio board operator, host and play-by-play broadcaster. He hopes to be the best radio broadcaster. Josh has gained professional experience as board operator with 1430 WFOB-AM and 96.7 FM WBVI-FM. Josh has also interned in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League with the Lima Locos.

 Jacob Sidle 

Jacob is a junior from Shreve, Ohio studying Media Production. He joined BGRSO in fall of 2016. His most notable experience was broadcasting a women's basketball game in Louisville, Kentucky. He hopes to gain skills and refine his broadcasting techniques through BGRSO Jacob has interned with the Irish Hills Leprechauns and the Galion Graders in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. His career goals are to be a professional baseball broadcaster.

 Chip Creinin

Chip is a sophomore from Davis, California studying Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Coaching. He has beein with BGRSO since fall of 2017 and his notable experience includes broadcasting a MAC Volleyball Tournament. He hopes to achieve his career goals of becoming a radio or television broadcaster in the NHL.

Chris Bugajsky

Chris is a freshman from Naperville, Illinois studying Media Production with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. Chris joined BGRSO in the fall of 2018 and has hosted intermission, halftime, pregame shows along with broadcasting baseball games. Chris' goals include becoming baseball or hockey play-by-play broadcasting, radio show host or be a beat writer for a professional team.
