Student journalists around the country had to adapt as the COVID-19 pandemic upended their academic, personal and professional lives. 2020-2021 BG Falcon Media Channel Director Bri Scebbi speaks with student journalists from Boston University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, CalPoly University, El Camino Community College and Bowling Green State University about the challenges they faced in each of their newsrooms and how they continued to serve their audiences throughout the pandemic. From increased conversations about mental health to editors issuing wake-up calls to colleagues falling asleep during remote print nights, student journalists took on more in the past year than they could have imagined -- and they thrived, continuing to bring their communities the information needed to stay healthy.
