The BG football team held its first team scrimmage before the start of the season. The event was open only to season ticket holders, who found themselves waiting in the stands after a delay to the scheduled start time.
The team had a good reason for the delay, as they were visited by former Falcons head coach Urban Meyer. Meyer’s flight was reportedly delayed, causing the late start time. Meyer spoke to the team briefly about team culture and what it takes to be successful. During the scrimmage, Meyer observed from the sidelines.
Meyer spent the last seven seasons as head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes before announcing his retirement in December. Before that, Meyer made several coaching stops, notably Bowling Green, where he won 17 games in two seasons.
